It's Raining.

On Sunday I was down south of the Thames waiting for The Globe to open up so I could go see Romeo & Juliet. In the meantime I played around a bit with the camera and experimented a bit with angles and light and color like I try to take the time to do from time-to-time.

I also had gone to Tate Modern just before. It was interesting but much smaller than I had expected so I got through it in about half of the time I had planned. Hmmm.

I honestly cannot believe that I am going on Week 4 in London!!!! How wild. As cool as that is it also means I only have slightly more than a month left here too which is quite disheartening because I really feel like home!!!!

Today I took a day to myself after a long busy week to do some retail therapy. I went to a small boutique by our house that I've always wanted to pop into but its never open when I get out of work. then I walked the entire of Oxford Street (no small feet mind you its the longest shopping district in London). Found my new favorite store Primark which is basically like Old Navy only everything fits better and is made better and is cheaper. Jackpot. Bought some new things that are more in line with my personality, funky, fun and smart, only to be appropriately suited in London. Then that's it I think its going to be a low-key night. The weather has been kind of doomy and gloomy today with a big down pour and weather so chilly you could see your breath. Today was a little warmer but not doing anything to help my summer cold go away for certain!!!

I also thought I would upload some of the pictures I've taken of our dorm since I haven't had a chance to do that yet!!!!

Me and a Beef Eater. They have to serve in the Royal armed forces for at least 22 years and move all the way up in the ranks. Then they go through a 2 years application/training program and 1 year of historical training to work in the Tower of London. They were all very sweet old men.

Cool wall rocks from where the wall used to be (its a much smaller fortress now) Instead of prisoners and royalty it now all hold the crown jewels, Henry the 8th remaining artifacts (surprisingly interesting) and the old school torture methods they used sporadically for those who committed treason.

After another lovely session of professional development went to the Tower of London. Very interesting place. It was slightly pricey but it was well worth the money. Honestly the only thing better would have been if they let you take pictures inside of the armour and crown jewels. One of those unforgettable places where you don't really need a picture to remember though. Met some nice old men who took us on nice tours of the premises too!! They are very sweet and very proud of their countries history so that is always wonderful to be around.

Later a group of young ladies from the program and I went to one of our favorite local pubs for beer and burger specials. After desert and some banter we headed down to the only IMAX in all of the UK (the biggest screen as well, obviously) to see the late showing of Star Trek. I was pleasantly surprised at how excellent the movie was!!! plus a movie is almost always better in IMAX. We then navigated the night bus home and the city streets which is something I always like doing (only with a group of course!!!!).

Hey June.

It seems wild that it is already June 1st. First because we are like halfway though the year already and second because that means I'm starting week 3 in London!

Just a typical Monday, stopped at the local cafe to pick up my lunch and headed off to my long long day!!!!!! Completed my first official draft of a proposal for a television programme. I'm quite proud of it but we have the kabash on it right now because most of our experts are unreachable until the middle of June. But still fun to complete something.

Halfway through the day I got approached by a new producer to work on a project they are working on based on the last 100 years of Detroit, so I'm being used as a great resource for them since I have actually been to Detroit and live in Michigan. Working for this company is already turning into a wonderful experience and I'm learning so much about television and film researching/developing. Still not sure if its what I'm going to be doing as like a "forever" job but its been an excellent crash course into the industry!!!

Well off to bed early since I'm dealing with early rising, full time days, the unpredictability of city commutes and other adult-type things!!!
