Like a Local. . .kind of!

We have officially been asked about 5 times for directions by other tourists and locals alike so I think that is an excellent sign that I and the rest of our crew are blending in quite nicely.

Today was a nice day. We headed down to Camden Market which is quite a funky but fun outdoor and underground market with any type of clothing, style or bric-a-brac (their version of our knick-knack) that would appeal to the teen and twenty something lifestyle! Bought an interesting print dress after haggling with the vendor to get it half priced! I was pretty proud!

I had my first authentic fish and chips on a vespa seat overlooking a small river in Camden!

After that we had a scheduled activitiy and headed out to the British Museum which was quite lovely. The great hall was impressive as was their collection of mummies. Not only that but they had an excellent library and a part of the Rosetta Stone (even a replica that you could touch!) After that we ate at another local cafe for dinner. . .burgers and beers! which is apparently actually quite British because we had cider and their burgers never come with chips but salad instead!

After that a new friend and I decided to get dressed up a bit and go out for desert. After wandering for awhile we realized that perhaps we haven't had desert here yet because the Brits don't really eat desert. . .they just drink for those sweet/extra calories!!!! We managed to find a nice place to stop and we had a pretty traditional sticky toffee pudding which was just as good as the name sounds!!!!

Thanks to the Monday Holiday we have a 4 day weekend so then we all collaborated and mapped out our assault on the city for those days which will include the Natural History Museum, The London Eye and Bridge, Sunday Markets and the Aquarium!!! Super excited.

Now off to bed since we have a lovely but tiring 5 hours Blue Badge walking tour in the afternoon tomorrow followed almost immediately by our welcome reception at our new favorite hang out - The Big Chill!!!!!

Love <3>
