No pictures today. Still just as exhausted though.
Today was my first day as an intern. It was a whirlwind.
I get my own desk, my own computer, my own phone number, my own email account. Plus I got my own notebook, pen set and sticky notes!!!!
At first it was a little awkward since being from the US we can't get UK programming I was kind of researching things in a way different from how they do them. But by lunch I'd gotten the hang of their style and ideas and even managed to kick around a few of my own.
I'm re-working some of their existing concepts for now to get my feet wet. I pitched some decent drafts today on new directions for some programming they want to get started. One was on lying and deceit and I'm even putting in some official phone calls to some contacts tomorrow on behalf of the company! Tomorrow I start some work on new series on future "fads" in dieting, new age medicine and fertility treatments. I think its pretty interesting stuff. Not as hard hitting and controversial as most of their publications but I'm just getting started!!!!!
So a great first day on the job!!!
And the real world is exhausting, they don't teach you that in class!!!!
Alarm set and off to bed!!!!
