Oh I am fortune's fool!

Last shot before they made me put my camera away.

View from a seat!

I paid for good seats to go see Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet at the Globe theatre. It was a wonderful experience. I wasn't keen on casting of the two main characters but I did enjoy the production as a whole. The utilization of the audience, the song and the sword fights did quite nicely. Master Capulet's speech was earth shaking while Mercutio's death scene moved me to a few tears. However, I didn't think the star crossed lovers pulled at my heart strings as much as they should have. Romeo was too flamboyant and Juliet was too wide eyed. It looked like a couple of first graders acting out what they thought love was to be as opposed to two adults putting a new spin on the greatest love/tragedy ever told. Thank goodness for them they had a supporting cast worthy enough to make the production Globe worthy.
