I liked this quote!

RSC main theatre under renovation!

One of the most lovely places I've ever been!

Poster for the play I went and saw!!! phenomenal!! I would have given it a standing ovation but they don't like that in the UK.

City Streets.

View from my morning hike!!!

The Courtyard...part of the RSC and where they are housing the main shows while the other one is under construction!!!

"Hello Forever" Tombstone in the park.
Brass Rubbing Station.
The Dell company putting on a teenage production of The Tempest. Actually it was quite good.
"She loved this place". Best tombstone ever.

Seriously love cemeteries.

Walking over memories.

William Shakespeare's grave.

Baptism and Death records for William Shakespeare.

Quick snap during the intermission....they are so finicky about cameras.....they saw me putting mine away and got all eyeball-y about it!!!!! Great seat though, fantastic play. P.s there was a blood inducing wrestling match, gunshots, tribal dance/dream sequence and a scene involving skinning of a real rabbit on stage. no joke it was intensely awesome!

Where Shakespeare was born!!!!

Monument to the best jesters in Shakespeare's plays.
Well. I think I've seen enough Shakespeare to last a lifetime........or at least for a little while. Arrived in Startford-Upon-Avon Friday evening, got all turned about walking to my hotel so ended up seeing a lot of the city by accident. It was really nice to get out of the crammed dorms and into my own hotel room (king size bed, shower wider than me, swimming pool - dream-like!). After a great nights sleep got up and explored the town. This far exceeded my expectations. Every single thing, down to the rowboats you could rent to raft the river was named after Shakespeare and his works. It was overwhelming. Started off the morning with a nice hike up the river and to the Parish where Shakespeare was baptized and is buried alongside his wife. I have completely loved all of the history I've found in these old churches. Went to see the Royal Shakespeare Company put on As You Like It in the Courtyard Theatre which was amazing. That's one of my favorite comedies but since I haven't read it since Freshman year of college it was like experiencing it brand new, beautifully done. It is tied with The Comedy of Errors (at the Globe) for best production I've seen in England but only because Comedy of Errors was just so darn funny!!!! Production and acting quality on AYLI was much higher. After the afternoon play more exploring of the city. Didn't go in but was able to go around and see the house where Shakespeare was born and his early day's were spent as well as a lot of neat little shops with his things in it. Really nice town and really well kept for all of the history contained in it. Super glad I decided to make it more than a day trip because it certainly was!!!
Did get back quite late however so now it is time for me to get to bed because tomorrow its the long trip up to Scotland (starting early again!).
